Responsibilities

  • You will work as an integral member of the global comms team where you’ll plan, develop and implement international PR strategies, with agency support where required.
  • You will be equipped to build strong relationships and networks with colleagues, industry contacts and the media, acting as a core press officer / external liaison for the organization. 
  • You will have high attention to detail and top-notch writing / quality control and organizational standards.
  • You will monitor the media, including newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcasts, newswires, social media sites and blogs, providing strategic insights / analytics. 
  • You will be a confident writer and driver of impactful newsflow, developing media materials, facilitating interviews with the senior leadership, and achieving top tier media coverage, from medical trade to consumer. 
  • You will be experienced in organizing comms-related events (such as press conferences, industry events, exhibitions and press tours).
  • You will be equipped in sourcing and managing internal speakers / thought leaders, seeking out ongoing opportunities to amplify share of voice for the company / leadership.
  • You will collate and produce market research reports on wider industry and competitive landscape, with agency support where required.
  • You will have a keen mind, activity identifying new creative and strategic opportunities, and anticipating / managing around potential challenges.
  • You will have experience in corporate reputation management and a particular track record in healthcare / medical communications, from data to disease awareness to issues management.
  • You may be required to travel on occasion, as the role requires (e.g. for major internal meetings or external events such as medical congresses).

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8+ years’ professional experience in a similar role – ideally healthcare / medically-oriented communications, in-house or agency.
  • Specific experience in the bio-pharma / healthcare industry preferred and / or a degree in bio-medical sciences or similar. 
  • Strong track record in working in cross-functional teams, project management and driving multifaceted deliverables.  
  • Comfortable working directly to a senior leadership team and able to drive projects relatively autonomously when required.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with adaptability, agility and positivity. 
  • Experience in multi-national / international / matrixed environments.
  • Able to cut through ambiguity / complexity, including high science content, with a solutions-driven approach. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and quality control across deliverables.
  • Experience in budget oversight and good financial acumen in relation to project management / agency coordination.
  • Committed to helping improve the mental health status quo worldwide.
