COMPASS Pathways is a mental health care company dedicated to accelerating patient access to evidence-based innovation in mental health.  Our focus is on improving the lives of those who are suffering with mental health challenges and who are not helped by current treatments. We are pioneering the development of a new model of psilocybin therapy, in which our proprietary formulation of synthetic psilocybin, COMP360, is administered in conjunction with psychological support.

The LX Developer will be responsible for the development of digital learning experiences using authoring tools. The role requires technical ability to achieve the best results from the authoring tools through careful consideration of the learning objectives.

Our team has been expanding to be able to train the growing community of clinicians using digital tools that increase scalability and accessibility. As part of this team expansion, we are looking for a full-time Learning Experience (LX) Developer to join our team on a permanent basis and help us achieve our goals of implementing engaging and impactful learning experiences.

This role will involve working closely with the Learning Experience (LX) Designer to allow the efficient handover of scripts and storyboards as well as to collaborate on envisioning bespoke learning solutions to address complex knowledge and skill transfers. The Developer will also work closely with the Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator to ensure the final digital learning products are tested and successfully inputted onto the LMS.

Reports to: The LX Developer will report to Digital Learning Designer and Developer.

Location: Office based in London, UK (with home working flexibility).

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the LX Designer to develop the technical infrastructure for the learning experiences
  • Work closely with LMS Administrator to test and deploy the eLearning products
  • Develop a variety of different content suitable for both mobile and desktop devices such scenario-based learning, simulations, 360° interactions, and videos
  • Propose and build high-quality, bespoke interactions that can maximise the impact of the learning
  • Support with identifying, evaluating, and testing novel EdTech
  • Contribute to the evaluation of learning experiences both for the purpose of face-to-face teaching and online teaching
  • Develop a library of white label interactions
  • Support with visual asset editing



  • Motivation to improve mental health and wellbeing of patients through evidence-based clinical trials
  • Passion and curiosity towards building impactful learning experiences
  • Experience working within eLearning developer roles
  • Experience in using Learning Management Systems
  • In-depth experience of Articulate 360, with advanced Storyline 360 knowledge including the use of variables and/or JavaScript triggers
  • Desire to take initiative and ability to work independently and in virtual teams
  • Understanding of eLearning standards (xAPI, SCORM)
  • Comfortable working with blended learning experiences
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, continually changing environment and manage own time effectively
  • Open and accepting of feedback and new ways of working
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills and a proven ability to use initiative

  • Use or knowledge of Atlassian project management tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Interest in novel technologies such as VR/AR
  • Graphic design experience with use of image editing software
  • Experience in filming and editing video content
