We are facing a mental health crisis with100M+ people suffering from depression and anxiety in the US, and legacy treatments don’t always work. Legal and evidence-based psychedelic therapies introduce a paradigm shift in the treatment of mental health. At Journey Clinical, we are building a Telehealth platform to empower the 1M+ licensed psychotherapists nationwide to offer psychedelic therapies in their own practice, starting with FDA-approved ketamine. With a decentralized clinic model, Journey Clinical takes care of the medical aspect of the treatment in-house while Journey member psychotherapists are in charge of psychotherapy. Our collaborative care model provides a robust care management system and optimizes clinical outcomes for patients.

Overview: The Lead Developer will be responsible to architect, build and scale a SaaS platform to enable clinicians to practice psychedelic therapy and support patients on their therapeutic journey. This is a greenfield opportunity to build technology and a team from the ground up.
Technical leadership: Become the technical leader at Journey Clinical and an active part of the leadership team in a seed stage startup. Engage with co-founders (CEO & COO) daily and keep track of technology trends to align Journey’ Clinical’s technology resources with the organizational growth strategyBuild MVP: Build out Journey Clinical’s web presence, member psychotherapist portal and architect the online provider directory service. Be in charge of end-to-end implementation (e.g. identify tech stack from the ground up, planning, functions/features, development of the frontend and backend, testing, deployment, data security)Ensure ongoing product-market-fit: Serve as a product lead to gather user feedback, maintain log of prioritized improvement with new and existing functionalities, implement changes/new features to improve product and end-to-end user journey, and communicate product updates seamlessly to usersCross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with operations, legal, developers and designers to build and maintain the product (e.g. legal to inform on regulatory requirements, designer to inform on UI and/or UX, operations to inform on UX and end-to-end customer experience etc.)Build, manage and scale the technical team: identify resourcing needs, be in charge of hiring developers (in-house or contractors) as needed, run technical interviews and lead the technical team (e.g. set up timeline and scope of work for product development, collaborate to write and/or review code, provide feedback etc…). Take ownership and accountability for technical deliverablesPartnerships with technology providers: Liaise with Osmind EHR and other technology partnersSecurity: ensure that all systems at Journey are safe, current and compliant (e.g. HIPAA). Identify areas of risk and mitigating strategies

– 7+ years of software engineering experience with proven track record of delivering high quality products- Experience working in a product driven organization including strong collaboration with product leadership- Experience building and/or managing the development of a user facing and user driven platform- Full-stack application development experience- Experience working with cloud-based platforms- Experience working at an early stage start-up in a leadership role- Healthcare experience preferred

Skill Set:
– Skilled full stack developer/engineer with proficiency in one or more modern programming language(s) ready to define the tech stack, build the product architecture, implement and scale it- A proactive problem-solving mindset able to manage the needs of a rapidly scaling company-“Big picture” thinker and detail oriented at the same time- Effective communicator able to translate business needs into actionable technical deliverables- Team player, excellent interpersonal skills, able to seamlessly collaborate with others- Creative mind interested in blending the physical and the virtual into one seamless journey- Drive to build an impactful and innovative product- Mission aligned with founders’ vision and company values
