Job Summary

The Clinical Psychologist position is within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at UCSF, and will be based at Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute (LPPI) at the Parnassus campus. The individual will be joining a clinical research group as a study facilitator who works with participants enrolled in experimental clinical trials. Facilitators are doctoral level psychotherapists who complete preparation, dosing, and integration sessions with research study participants. This includes preparing for research drug sessions with study participants, guiding participants through the study drug dosing session, and meeting with research participants to process the drug experience afterwards. The candidate will guide participants through these research visits as part of our ongoing clinical trials. They will also conduct research based clinical assessments that are designed to assess symptoms and determine eligibility for enrollment in clinical trials.

They may provide guidance to trainees in the lab’s research practicum, teaching trainees how to perform research based clinical assessments. These are not UCSF employees or students, but affiliates. They may also contribute to data collection and analysis.
